The project establishes as an area of intervention the courtyard of one of the primary schools in the Marka refugee camp, the second largest in Jordan, with a population of 85.000 inhabitants.

DESIGN

Based on previous dynamics carried out with the different agents, we decided to work with the Palestinian identity through its embroidery.
Embroidery is an expression of the innate creativity and colorful personality of Palestinian women.
It is a technique that has been lost with the emergence of European patterns, as well as by appropriation by other ethnic groups.

Embroidery of Palestinian origin.

We recover shapes, rhythms and colours from this ancestral tradition of the Palestinian people, as a legacy from the ancestors of the children who play in this space every day.
Symbolically, children will grow up in the place they live in, but with their feet on the roots of the place to which they belong.
